However, several Portuguese creoules are spoken as national languages: Forro, which is spoken by roughly 36% of the population (over 30 years old); Principense, which originated from the African groups Bantu and Kwa; Cape Verdean Creoule and Angolar (with a heavy substrate of the Kimbundu dialect). French and English are taught as foreign languages at schools.
